Student Groups
A Rural Tours student group farmstay forms the highlight of many student tours to New Zealand. It is also a great way for New Zealand ‘city kids’ to learn more about the rural sector, sustainability, environmental issues, and more.
Their farmstay provides an experience that is not only educational, but fun as well. For many students, it is their first time to experience such a rural environment, and therefore creates a memory that lasts a lifetime.
For non-English native speakers, staying in groups of four students is ideal. Students are able to communicate much easier, and enjoy their experience with their host family much more when they are with their peers. When there are three or five students, the non-paired student may feel left out, so four is the optimum number.
We recommend a minimum of a two nights stay for all student tours. Rural Tours can cater up to 160 students per stay, with many groups coming on a regular basis staying in the Waikato Region throughout the year.
We must be advised about any students who have siginficant medical conditions, or students on medication.
Students require appropriate clothing for farm activities. Casual clothing and footwear, which can get dirty, should be worn when outdoors during their stay.
